Our Membership Route is designed to provide flexible and inclusive pathways for individuals and organizations to become part of our professional community.

🔹 1. Certification-Based Entry Route

This route is ideal for individuals who have completed any of CIMLAI’s approved certification or professional development programs.

Requirements:

• Completion of at least one CIMLAI-certified short course or professional training

• Submission of course completion certificate and assessment results

• Application for membership aligned with the course level completed

Eligible Membership Levels:

• Student Member

• Associate Member (ACIMLAI)

• Full Member (MCIMLAI)

This route ensures that your learning is recognized and formally endorsed through professional membership, creating a seamless bridge between training and certification.

🔹 2. Direct Membership Route (Experience-Based)

Designed for professionals with practical experience but who may not yet hold CIMLAI certifications. This route recognizes real-world skills and accomplishments.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in AI, ML, Data Science, or a related field

• Evidence of technical contribution, leadership, or innovation in the field

• Submission of CV, proof of experience, and references

• May require an interview or knowledge assessment depending on level

Eligible Membership Levels:

• Associate Member (ACIMLAI)

• Full Member (MCIMLAI)

• Senior Fellow (SFCIMLAI)

• Doctoral Fellow (Dr. SFCIMLAI)

This route is perfect for career professionals, consultants, or researchers seeking recognition without repeating entry-level certifications.

🔹 3. Academic/Research Route

For professionals in academia or research institutions who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge in AI and Machine Learning.

Requirements:

• At least one published journal article, academic paper, or textbook contribution in AI/ML

• Proof of academic role (lecturer, researcher, supervisor, etc.)

• Demonstrated commitment to ethical AI and knowledge dissemination

Eligible Membership Levels:

• Full Member (MCIMLAI)

• Senior Fellow (SFCIMLAI)

• Doctoral Fellow (Dr. SFCIMLAI)

This route acknowledges the critical role of educators and researchers in shaping the AI ecosystem in Nigeria and globally.

Tailored for organizations that are actively engaged in AI and ML development, training, deployment, or policy.

Requirements:

• Registered corporate entity with at least 3 years of operations in a tech or data-related field

• Interest in upskilling teams, developing AI capacity, or contributing to national AI initiatives

• Submission of company profile and partnership interest form

🔹 5. Honorary Membership (By Nomination)

Reserved for exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to the development or ethical governance of AI/ML in Nigeria or internationally.

Selection Criteria:

• Commitment to ethical AI development and social impact

Membership Conferred:

• Senior Fellow (Honorary)

• Doctoral Fellow (Honorary)

Nominees must be approved by the Governing Council of CIMLAI.
